We are happy to see the HATE-LESS.EU featured by Jugendserver Niedersachsen, helping bring wider visibility to ongoing efforts against hate speech, disinformation, and racist narratives online.
The article highlights the goals of the Erasmus+ co-funded HATE-LESS.EU project and its focus on supporting young people and youth workers through media literacy, critical thinking, and alternative storytelling approaches. In today’s digital environment, harmful narratives and misinformation can spread rapidly across social media platforms, affecting young people both as audiences and as participants in online discussions.
As presented in the article, one of the project’s central outcomes is the HATE-LESS Toolkit for youth workers and trainers. The toolkit includes 222 pages of methodological guidelines and practical materials designed to support educational and youth work settings. It offers practical and creative approaches for recognizing, analyzing, and responding to hate speech and disinformation.
The toolkit aims to help:
• strengthen media literacy and critical reflection
• support more inclusive and democratic online spaces
• encourage alternative narratives to harmful online content
• provide practical resources for youth projects and educational activities
Developed through international collaboration and tested during international training activities, the toolkit is available in German and five additional languages.
We are grateful to Jugendserver Niedersachsen for featuring the toolkit and helping extend the conversation around media literacy, youth participation, and safer digital spaces.
